Nonprofit & Association Reserves: Using Peer Benchmarks to Address Concerns About Your Association’s Investment Reserves
November 9 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Nonprofit staff can struggle to provide objective information in response to volunteers’ concerns about how much to hold in reserve, investment performance and fees, asset allocations, and other policies. First launched in 2012, the Study on Nonprofit Investing (SONI) is a peer benchmarking survey designed to help bring clarity, transparency, and accountability to nonprofit investing.
This session reviews the results from the 2021 SONI Survey. Following this session, you’ll have data to address questions such as:
- Why is our investment performance so lackluster?
- Why do we have so much invested in bonds and cash?
- Are our fees too high?
- What’s the likely impact of investing with ESG restrictions?
- Do we have enough in reserves?
Nonprofit and Association Leaders will review peer benchmarking information to better understand if their investment program is “normal”.
